Before you adopt

Think honestly about housing rules, daily schedule, exercise, training, veterinary costs, existing pets and the next 10–15 years—not just the first exciting weekend.

Can't adopt?

Fostering, walking dogs, transporting animals, donating supplies, taking good adoption photos, sharing posts and helping at events can all matter.

Found a dog?

Check for identification, have a vet or shelter scan for a microchip, and contact the appropriate local shelter. A lost pet may already have a family desperately looking for them.

Need to rehome?

Contact reputable shelters and rescues early. Be truthful about medical and behavior history, and avoid abandoning an animal or handing them to an unverified stranger.

Built to connect people who care with animals and organizations that need them.

Save The Puppies is an independent animal-welfare platform beginning in Greater Cincinnati. We exist to make helping easier: helping adoptable animals get seen, helping shelters and rescues reach more people, helping foster homes find support, and helping pet owners keep animals safely in homes where they are already loved.

There are already dedicated shelters, rescues, foster groups, trainers, volunteers, veterinarians, and community organizations doing hands-on work every day. We are not trying to replace them. We want to make their work easier to find, easier to support, and easier for ordinary people to join.

We connect the missing pieces

Sometimes a rescue has a dog but no foster. Sometimes a foster needs supplies. Sometimes an owner loves their pet but needs a ride, a bag of food carried upstairs, or a little yard help. Often the resources exist—the right people simply have not found each other yet.

Animal welfare is not only about finding new homes. Preventing an unnecessary surrender can be just as important. Every pet who can safely remain with a family that loves them is one fewer animal entering an already strained shelter and rescue system.

THE BIGGER IDEA

Cincinnati is the first region, not the finish line.

Our long-term goal is a network of locally operated Save The Puppies regions supported by shared technology, resources, standards, and automation. Each region should have a real local coordinator who understands the shelters, rescues, foster networks, volunteers, trainers, community partners, and needs in that area.

The technology can help find opportunities, organize information, amplify posts, route requests, and reduce repetitive work. The human part still matters. Regional coordinators provide local judgment, relationships, accountability, and the ability to turn a digital connection into real help for an animal or family.

Independent by design

Save The Puppies is not a shelter, rescue, veterinary provider, or government agency. We are an independent platform built to support and connect the people and organizations already working in animal welfare.

Local first

Animal welfare happens locally. Shelter capacity, foster availability, volunteer needs, transportation, laws, and resources vary from community to community. That is why each region should be rooted in the people who actually live there.

Practical over complicated

If the problem can be solved by sharing a post, making an introduction, carrying a bag of food, walking a dog, or finding one willing foster, that is a win. Helping should feel approachable, not intimidating.

Every animal is an individual

Numbers matter, but each number is a dog or cat with a personality, history, and chance at a better outcome. We may never be able to solve every problem, but helping one animal still matters completely to that animal.

We are building the bridge.

Between the person who wants to help and the rescue that needs help. Between the foster who is overwhelmed and the volunteer who has an hour. Between the pet owner facing a hard month and the neighbor willing to lend a hand. Between an overlooked animal and the person who has been waiting to meet them.
